Roll for Constitution
This is the first serial in a series following Dillion, a college student who finds his interest in game design and hobby as a roleplaying DM bringing him head first into a group of female friends who are looking for a little more than just a Pathfinder session. This book spends about half of it’s time setting the path for things to come, between showing the type of person Dillion and his friends are and a subplot about a rich bully they knew in high school who was a bit of a creeper then and ready to brawl to get his way now. The whole affair seems very geeky slice of life until suddenly, without warning, the real games begin as the women compete against each other to see which one will win his affections. How things develop from here feels organic but it sure takes a while getting there. The book also ends on a strong cliffhanger, so don’t grab the first book without expecting to grab the second.

Good Geek Erotica
This book is an interesting blend of geek culture and erotica. I would say I probably have pretty good geek cred and I found this to be a very realistic depiction of some groups I have hung out with. Contrary to being full of lonely recluses who spend all their time masturbating alone, many role-playing groups I’ve been a part of are full of lust and sex, which is sometimes incorporated into the game! The book is full of references to role-playing games, rpg systems, comic books, movies and television shows, most of which I got. It probably has as many references as Ready Player One but it doesn’t condescend you with long explanations iike that book and this is actually competently written. It takes a little while to get going, if you’re going in wanting to get into the hot stuff right away you’re going to half to wait for about half the book. However, in the grand scheme of things, it is a short book and probably gets to the sex in the same number of pages as most erotic novels.Bottom line, if you like erotica, you’re in to rpgs, comics and movies that are considered ‘geeky,’ you’re probably going to like this book. The book ends on a cliffhanger and I’ll definitely be checking out the sequel to see how the story evolves.

GameLit meets Erotica: Sexy & Creative
I’m a huge fan of GameLit and geek culture, but I’ve only rarely read erotica. It was the blending of the two that drew me to the book when I read the synopsis. I laughed a ton during the book, and found myself grinning along as I read. This is erotica, for sure, but it’s also a pretty great slice of life for cool geeks in college. The author obviously knows their stuff, both from a geek reference perspective–something I appreciate, and if you like in-jokes and pop culture / nerd culture references, you will too. The main character is also very charming in that beta male kind of way.A number of characters are introduced and are developed over the relatively short read. I feel like each one has a distinctive voice, which I appreciate. This is a series and doesn’t have a traditional ending. It left me wanting more. I’ve already bought the second book. Planning to read it now, but wanted to write a review in case if helps anyone else decide if they should grab this book. If you are looking for a flirty, entertaining read– check this out.

This book is beyond amazing, looking forward to finishing the series shortly.
Level Up: Level One: Headshothas taken hold as one of my top 3 favorite books I’ve ever read, easily. It felt real and alive, the characters almost jumped out of the book, including the ever so “lovable” Randy Andy, and I’ll be remembering them for some time, especially as I get time to reread the book a every now and then. I found it difficult to put the book down once I had the time to start reading it, wanting to devour every word on the pages as I flipped through them, and I’m very happy that the series is complete because I don’t know if I could handle waiting for the next book to come out. On top of all of that, the steamy parts of this book had me squirming and wanting to handle things a little more privately as I continued to read. I would 150% recommend this book if your wanting a steamy read that also has character to it, and also educates you a little bit on geeky info, you need to read this book if any of that sounds even remotely interesting to you. -ZaneVI

Head Shot is a critical hit
I read this last night and simply loved it. A group of college students who are gaming buddies meet a multi-colored hair, game geek, with a killer smile and an 18 charisma and looks to match. Soon they start a new campaign with 3 of Suzie’s friends, also female and Dillon’s world as the DM blows up. He begins making all of his diplomacy checks and finds a charm and sex appeal he didn’t know he had. The stramy scenes took a while to arise, but when they did, I finished completely satisfied.I loved the gaming references, the characters, and the story, even though it wasn’t what I expected. Since I bought all 5 books. There will be more reviews as I finish each one.

Well written
First, I must note this is not the genre I usually read. That being said, the writing itself was flawless. I expected to find errors or poorly written sentences and it was not the case unless I just missed them. So from a technical aspect, this story is extremely well written. Now to the plot and content. The story itself is the first to a larger series. It reads fast as we find the main character Dillion going from geek to sheik. The storyline follows him and his geeky friends as their worlds start to change in college. The story is filled with tons of gamer and geek references, which even a few of them resonated with this old fantasy buff. It’s well written and easy to follow. I found the characters interesting and I would recommend this book if this was your genre or even if perhaps it wasn’t. The writer is solid.

Loved it.
Finally, a book and story that includes us gamers lol. This was a really fine read and I really identified with all of the characters. Alexa Sommers has done a great job of describing the characters and scene really well and has obviously done the research too which I really appreciate.I don’t like to give the story away with my reviews but I will say that there is a great cliffhanger at the end of the book. It’s the first time I’ve come across this in a book and so was very excited to get the next book in the series.I do recommend this book and cant wait to read more myself.

Fantastic first experience of the genre!
My first foray into this genre… Wasn’t quite sure what to expect.Headshot turned out to be a really present surprise! Well constructed, well written, easy to get into and read and thoroughly enjoyable.I especially enjoyed the tabletop gaming and comic book references. There was plenty of build up and character development which really made this a worthwhile read.As for the more intimate scenes, they were highly charged and very effectively done.Alexa Sommers has really impressed me.

Great read
Even though I’m not a gamer, I’ve really enjoyed this book. It has everything you need for a fun read – a great storyline, real and likable characters, and hot, tastefully written sex scenes. I’ve purchased book two of the series and can’t wait to read what else Ms. Sommers will throw into the mix.
