Thank you so much for your patience. We are excited to announce that the new version of In Her Own Hands (version 0.4.0) is now available for all Patrons at the “Surprise Me” level ($5) and above. If you are not currently a Patron at this level, you can join now to access the new version. The game (with any necessary bug fixes) will be released to the public one week from today.

This release was meant to consolidate several changes that will enhance game play. From redefining the way statistics are calculated, introducing an entirely new way to experience the sex scenes, a Progress Tracker to track different paths and give you hints while playing, to a fully functional phone and more, we spent our time laying a foundation that will allow us to build the game to new levels in all future releases. It was a lengthy process to accomplish all we had envisioned, but it will take the game to new heights and allow maximum flexibility so that stories can reach their full potential. These changes unfortunately are so fundamental that they prevent you from loading saved games, so we also wanted to make all of the improvements in one release.

The highlights of the extensive changelog will appear at the end of this post. The complete Official Scene Guide and Walkthrough will be posted for Patrons at the “Delight Me” level ($9) and above as soon as possible. We also had to temporarily disable the in-game Tutorial until we finish updating it with the new features.

S&D CumPoints© Sex System

Building upon feedback that you wanted to have more choice in sexual adventures, we are excited to introduce the S&D CumPoints© sex system, an entirely new way to experience sex in our game. Not only will you have the choice of activities, but the characters’ arousal will build to completion. Becca also acquires more skills and preferences as she accumulates sexual experience, while her partners may have their own preferences. A sexy status bar tracking your “CumPoints,” a measure of how aroused you are during sex, will take each character from foreplay to climax!

Because we want to perfect this very important aspect of the game, we have only implemented the system in the first sexual encounter with the James character (coffee shop guy), the easiest and earliest scene Becca can encounter. Even if you don’t intend to pursue this path permanently, we would love all of our patrons to take a few minutes to try it out. Once we receive feedback (we will have a poll later this month), we will convert most of the remaining existing scenes and use it for the main character’s future sexcapades.

Wardrobe & Statistics

In the ongoing refinement of the Wardrobe system, you will see statistics for your outfit of choice that include a calculation of the level of being “Comfy,” “Naughty,” and “Professional.” While the focus was to introduce the statistics required for a new game, it will allow us to alter scenes based on your wardrobe in future releases.

We have also redefined the way that we calculate the main Inhibition and Corruption stats. They now incorporate the wardrobe statistics, the Arousal and Romance stats, Becca’s experience, as well as several other factors, into their calculation. In this way, the statistics become much more interdependent, so that one statistic directly affects another.

Fully-Functional Phone

A new sophisticated phone appears in the game now, accessible from the main sidebar. The phone is a mapped image, so that you access features by clicking on their respective apps. Your text messages, phone calls, a game map, your contacts, a camera and photo gallery and more will now appear in her phone. You can even select a background (which will get naughtier as the game goes on) for your phone. (Hint: You may want to call your sister occasionally… and don’t miss those text messages from Abby!)

And More…

Becca has new financial responsibilities, a bank account, more places to visit and shop, a Twatter (😉) account and more minor improvements to the game. Over the next week, we will give you more detail on the new functions so we don’t overwhelm you now. Hopefully you will discover all the new changes as you play and be “surprised and delighted”… (wink)!
